Good Thursday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start on radar right now but we don't have to look far off to our west or north to find showers and thunderstorms. They'll be heading our way today and severe weather is expected.
A Tornado Watch has been issued for most of NWFL through 1pm CDT. Gusty damaging winds and even some small hail are other severe risks associated with a band of storms heading our way.
Otherwise, it'll be a breezy day outside of thunderstorms, and those southerly winds are leading toward a more mild and a bit humid morning as we're starting out in the 60s. The warm front with this latest storm system, moving in from the west, passed overhead to the north last night leading toward a big change in our warmth and humidity this morning and through the day today we can expect to feel quite humid.
However, it's the cold front with this system that's expected to develop a band of thunderstorms that will march in from the northwest today. There's decent agreement this morning among models that we'll see the storms spread in along I-10 and into the Wiregrass through the late morning, eventually working southeast through the midday and afternoon, but slowing down as it does so. In fact, once this band gets more established across NWFL by the afternoon, we could see it linger into the evening as it slowly progresses eastward and southward of Hwy231.
Heavy rains will be possible along this line of storms as well, and if we do see the slow down and slow movement to the east, flash flooding in some low lying areas will be possible.
The front should slide east of the area overnight tonight pushing the storms out of NWFL after midnight. We'll see our skies shape up through the rest of the week and into the upcoming weekend.

For today, breezy and cloudy conditions with thunderstorms likely, some may be severe with damaging winds, small hail, heavy rains, and an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Your 7 Day Forecast has our skies clearing out through Friday and it'll shape up to be a great weekend.
