ORLANDO, Fla.Strong storms are moving through Central Florida on Friday, bringing rain, lightning, gusty winds and the possibility of tornadoes.

A line of strong storms stretching from the Gulf Coast to Florida’s east coast is moving southeast across Central Florida.

A tornado warning was issued for Marion County, but it expired just before 5:45 a.m.

Several severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued in the area, and most of the region was under a tornado watch until 11 a.m. The watch is now in effect for Brevard and Osceola counties.

A watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form.

Thousands of power outages have been reported in the area, but there are no immediate reports of damage across the region.

Because of the storms, several COVID-19 testing sites in Central Florida have been closed for the day.

Earlier this week, two tornadoes touched down in Central Florida.

Friday’s high in Orlando will reach 84, the average high on this date.

More rain is expected in the area Saturday, but the threat of severe weather won’t be as great.

Sunday will be partly cloudy with a high of 88 and 20% chance of rain.
