HOUSTON – With severe weather and a tornado watch in place for much of the Houston-area for Sunday morning and afternoon, here are the latest updates:

4:20 p.m. -- New Tornado Warning issued for Liberty County
4 p.m. -- Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Bolivar Peninsula, High Island areas till 4:30 p.m.
Last two clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms are still packing heavy rain, lightning and possibly small hail. North cluster should move into East TX over next hour, Bolivar Peninsula severe storm will be offshore in next 30 min. That should be the end of the storms for the rest of the day! -- Justin Stapleton
3:21 p.m. -- Severe Thunderstorm Warning active for Galveston County

2:55 p.m. -- Confirmed Tornado touchdown in Bazoria County
A storm spotter reported to the National Weather Service that a tornado was confirmed to have touched down a mile west of West Columbia, Brazoria County at about 2:07 p.m. along Highway 35.

A Tornado Watch was extended for Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, harris, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker counties.

1:40 p.m. -- Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues
KPRC 2 Meteorologist Eric Braate says a Severe Thunderstorm warning remains in effect for a cel that is leaving Wharton County and moving into north Matagorda County and northwest Brazoria Counties.
Large hail and damaging winds are possible and residents in the area are advised to seek shelter till the storm passes.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for many counties in the area until 3 p.m.
Those counties include: Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Houston, Liberty, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington, and Wharton. Read more.
