Two Maine hikers rescued after suffering severe hypothermia - WGME

STEEP FALLS (WGME) - Two people are now recovering after spending the night lost in the woods in Steep Falls.

A 48-year-old Limington man and a 55-year-old Baldwin woman were hiking with a friend Saturday afternoon when they got lost.

The three spent the night in the woods, and this morning their friend hiked to a nearby house shoeless and asking for help.

Around 3 p.m. a K9 picked up the missing people's scent and found the pair stuck in a bog.

Warden's started up a fire once they saw both hikers were severely hypothermic and unable to walk.

Warden's carried the two out of the woods and they're expected to make a full recovery.
