PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said one person was killed in a weather-related crash in Pearl River County on Wednesday.
According to Corporal Cal Robertson, Jordan A. Lott, 33, of Lumberton was traveling north on I-59 when the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox he was in left the road, drove into the median, and crashed into a tree.
That crash happened around 4 p.m. during heavy rain.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency called the tragedy a “weather-related death” in a press release.
Robertson said the cause of the crash is sill under investigation.
MHP has warned drivers to use extra precaution while out on the road during rainy weather.
