SAN ANTONIO - Two San Antonio area schools were closed due to weather on Monday following district-wide closures last week.
After heavy storms, Dezavala Elementary School and Estrada Achievement Center were left without power. District officials say this was unrelated to the closures from last week.
These two closures came after all San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) schools were closed due to heating issues. District Superintendent Aquino attributed the district’s poor preparation to a lack of funding.
“Since 2019, we have not had We are facing multiple crises.” Aquino said.
In preparation for classes to resume, SAISD deployed portable heating units to all campuses throughout the district.
Classes are expected to resume at both schools tomorrow.
