Storms likely through tonight, some severe - WIBW

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A few thunderstorms will continue for areas near the Nebraska border through 6 PM.

Otherwise, most areas will be dry for the early evening before another round of scattered storms begins to develop around sunset.

The storm chances will become higher after sunset and through the overnight hours, and some storms may be severe. Large hail and strong winds will be the primary threats.

The risk of severe weather will continue past midnight before storms begin to weaken early Monday morning. Localized flooding will become more of a concern later tonight as storms continue.

Occasional showers and storms will continue on Memorial Day, but severe weather is not expected. Temperatures will be cooler with highs ranging from the mid 60s west to the mid 70s east.

Chances for showers and storms will continue through Thursday, but severe weather is not expected.

We will begin to dry out by the end of the week with high temperatures mostly in the 70s for the week ahead.
