WEATHER ALERTS: A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in place for the North Shore, Twin Ports and South Shore through noon.
TODAY: We're still watching two areas of low pressure, one to our north and one to our south, with an associated stationary boundary. Scattered showers and foggy conditions will be with us during the morning hours. We should see a brief break in the action around midday before showers and thunderstorms redevelop once again. Some strong to severe t-storms are possible in northwest Wisconsin once again. A marginal, level one risk is in place for Hayward, Spooner, Winter and Butternut. Areas just south and southwest are under a slight, level two risk. Hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall are the main threats, but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out either. Winds trend E to ESE at 5-15 mph, but will be turning S to SW. Highs range from around 70 northwest to the lower to mid 80s east and southeast. It'll be humid too with dewpoints in the 60s.
TONIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms will be likely throughout the night as the stationary boundary sits over the area. Heavy rainfall and some stronger storms are possible. Areas west of the Iron Range should see conditions dry out heading into the overnight hours. Winds will be light and variable. Lows range from around 50 northwest to the 60s southeast.
WEDNESDAY: Skies will be clearing throughout the day as the system slowly departs. Areas east of Hayward and Ashland could still see a few showers lingering. Winds trend W to SW at 5-10 mph. Highs will climb into the mid 70s to low 80s, and yes, even by the lake! Skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with a light W to SW wind and lows in the 40s and 50s.
THURSDAY: We'll see a mix of clouds and sunshine as the cold front will push through. Winds will trend NW at 5-15 mph Highs will remain mild, in the upper 60 to mid to upper 70s. Lows will drop back into the upper 30s to upper 40s, so it'll be a much cooler night, but more comfortable.
WEEKEND: High pressure will settle in, bringing us sunny to mostly sunny skies. Highs Friday and Saturday will only be in the 60s, which will be at or slightly below average. Lows drop back into the 30s and 40s, so some areas of patchy frost could be possible. By Sunday, highs will rebound back into the mid 60s to low 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s.
