SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A man was rescued and life flighted after he fell and broke his arm while hiking up Frary Peak on Antelope Island.
Officials with Davis County Search and Rescue said strong winds, which were registered at 40 Knotts Sunday afternoon, made the rescue difficult.
Heavier aircraft was required to get the man to safety.
LifeFlight and Air Med offered “plenty of options” for crews to reach him.
Search and rescue teams had also hiked to the peak in case they needed to carry the man down.
Officials did not say if the man had been taken to the hospital.
