WENATCHEE — Weather forecasters say the Wenatchee Valley can expect showers, thunderstorms and high winds tonight as part of a large Northwest weather system, with potential for flash flooding.
The National Weather Service in Spokane placed the valley under a flash flood watch to begin at 5 p.m., encompassing cities as far north as Omak and Conconully. Storms are likely before 11 p.m., with further showers and thunderstorms possible after 11 p.m.
West winds could reach 30 to 40 mph, with gusts as high as 65 mph. Rainfall estimates fall between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except in areas of server storm.
The NWS says hail is possible south of the valley, in areas near Yakima and Mattawa.
