PIKES PEAK — It is that time of year again!
Starting on Friday, May 22nd, summer hours (7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) will begin for Pikes Peak as well as mandatory shuttle service for guests seeking to reach the summit.
Only vehicles with a disability placard or license plate and vehicles with young children in car seats will be allowed to park on the summit due to limited parking with the construction of the Pikes Peak Summit Complex.
All other guests will be required to take a shuttle from the 16-mile parking area or the 13-mile parking lot. There is no additional charge for the shuttle.
Due to COVID-19, there will be new precautions taken with social distancing being in forced.
This includes physical distancing for all waiting lines, less than 50 percent capacity in each shuttle and increased cleaning and disinfection of shuttles throughout the day.
For the safety of everyone, face coverings will be required for all guests riding the shuttle, drivers and parking attendants.
Guests who do not have a face covering to use in the shuttle will only be allowed to drive to the 16-mile parking area.
Guests are also asked to leave the summit by 7 p.m. and exit the downhill gate by 8 p.m
