Wind Advisory in Effect
- What: 25-30 mph sustained winds with gusts up to 50 mph
- Where: Wind Advisory in effect in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa.
- Timing: Peak threat this afternoon and evening.
- Impacts: high profile vehicles may encounter difficult travel (especially along north-south running roads). Outdoor furniture, loose objects likely to get blown around
- ACTION: Secure lightweight, outdoor objects (such as garbage cans). Be prepared for difficult driving conditions, especially open areas
Strong to Severe Storms Possible
- What: Thunderstorms, some strong or possibly severe. Main threat is damaging wind.
- Where: Mainly west of the Mississippi River
- Timing: Peak threat timing - 4 to 11 p.m.
- Impacts: Winds could lead to tree damage, downed power lines. Rain could lead to additional rises on some rivers and streams
- ACTION: Stay weather aware! Take shelter when storms approach.
