San Antonio braces for severe threat of weather ahead of cool front - mySA

South Texas could see isolated to scattered severe storms late Sunday night into the overnight hours. Those areas include the Hill Country, Southern Edwards Plateau Rio Grande Plains and Edwards county.

The National Weather Service reports there’s a marginal risk for more isolated severe storms across South-Central Texas from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. The main threat with these storms is large hail and damaging winds. There’s a low chance for tornado activity across the Southern Edwards Plateau Sunday night.

Rainfall totals are expected to be any where from half an inch to two inches. San Antonio and the Hill Country could receive up to two inches of rain. Some minor flooding is possible. The heaviest amounts are expected to fall Sunday night and Monday.

Severe storms are possible for the latter half of Monday morning and into the evening. It’s still unclear where these storms will exactly fall and the exact timing of them. It’ll be best to keep your umbrella handy and watch for possible street flooding. Also, plan your commute for Monday accordingly and account for delays due to the rain.
