The National Weather Service at Albany issued a severe weather warning for parts of Dutchess County until 10 p.m. Friday, after it previously issued a tornado watch for Dutchess and Ulster Counties until 10 p.m.
Weather service Meteorologist Dan Thompson said the conditions in Dutchess are favorable for tornadoes, and thunderstorms, along with high winds and penny-sized hail.
Residents should expect damage to roof, siding, trees and power lines, he said. Thompson recommends that residents move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
