Tomorrow: Increasing clouds with severe thunderstorms in the afternoon that could have damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes. Hi: 85.
Saturday: More clouds than sun and quite breezy. Chilly for May standards. Hi: 68.
After what will be a very mild overnight you will see clouds quickly increase tomorrow as thunderstorms develop from the north first and then move south through Acadiana in the afternoon. Look for the sky to get dark and rumbles of thunder to be heard for miles. Lightning will be seen and large hail could fall if thunderstorms grow big enough in size. Tomorrow evening into Saturday will see clearing, but it will be much cooler and breezy to start Mothers’ Day weekend. On Sunday temps will rebound nicely, but still remain below average by nearly 10 degrees. A gradual climb into the 80s is expected next week with much higher humidity as what we would normally see here in mid-May.
