Bradley Fire reported Friday, August 7 has burned 1600 acres and is 10% contained on Sunday, August 9 (BLM Wyoming, Facebook)

CASPER, Wyo —Bureau of Land Management Wyoming said Sunday afternoon that the Bradley fire burning on Bradley Peak about 50 miles north of Rawlins has grown to approximately 1,600 acres and is 10% contained.

“Carbon County has ordered evacuations along Long Creek as potential fire activity is expected to move in that direction,” said BLM Wyoming.

Crews from the BLM and agencies including Evansville Fire-EMS are focused on structure protection, establishing fire lines, and actively the fire engaging it is safe to do so. The BLM said the Bradley Fire is in a remote area with minimal access routes, making direct attack of the fire with crews and engines difficult.

Federal air resources are dropping retardant and water to minimize fire growth and protect structures in the area.

The fire is burning on BLM-managed and private lands , and began from unknown causes at approximately 2:30 p.m. on August 7, 2020.

Red flag weather conditions are present over the fire.

Brendel Fire

NCFD said Friday night it had dispatched firefighters Mark Lee, Chris Weaver and Leighton Burgen on the Brush truck 7-4 to the Brandel wildfire burning outside of Wheatland on private land. The fire is burning in grass, sage and timber and is currently estimated at 168 acres.

Burgen told Oil City News Sunday that crews will remain on scene until at least Monday, mopping up hot spots. An containment estimate was not given.
