Strong Storms Possible in DC Area From Leftovers of Hurricane Laura - NBC4 Washington

Some showers and storms are possible tonight as the remnants of Hurricane Laura move out of the region.

Storm Team4 Meteorologist Somara Theodore says a cold front is gearing up to move through the area. This evening, as the front clears the region, we could see a heavy shower or strong to severe storm before around sunset, but then we are on the other side. See all severe weather alerts here.

Tonight, clear, cooler and calm conditions dominate. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 60s tonight.

High pressure is in place Sunday, which will bring us tons of sunshine and cooler, crisper air, Theodore said.

Monday will start off decent very early and then things change mid-morning with more cloud coverage and rain showers moving in. Storm chances go up a bit mid-week before we are dry on Thursday with highs near 90 degrees.
