TODAY: A broad area of low pressure continues to move through our region. Severe activity isn't expected this morning with the first wave of showers and t-storms. We'll see some partial clearing in the early afternoon, which will help bring some more energy into our region. Highs will be in the 80's with humid conditions. More thunderstorms are possible heading into the later afternoon and evening hours. Some of these t-storms could be severe, with the main threats being large hail, strong winds, and heavy downpours. An isolated tornado or two can't be ruled out. Skies will begin to clear in MN during the late evening hours, and in WI by the early morning hours on Thursday.
THURSDAY: A weaker area of high pressure is sandwiched between two areas of low pressure. We'll see clear skies become partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs in the upper 70's. This could be our last above average temperature day for a while.
FRIDAY: A cold front moves through, bringing a 40% chance of scattered showers and t-storms. Temperatures will struggle to get above 70°F. Skies eventually clear heading into the overnight hours, bringing lows in the 50's and a couple 40's.
SATURDAY: High pressure provides mostly sunny skies with highs around 71°F. Mostly clear skies persist into the overnight hours, with lows reaching the 40's and 50's. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a couple areas reach the upper 30's.
SUNDAY: A good chunk of the day will remain mostly clear with highs in the lower 70's. Another system moves in heading into the overnight hours. Models differ slightly on the timing of this system, so stay tuned for any updates!
NEXT WEEK: Temperatures remain slightly below average with chances of showers and rumbles of thunder for the first part of the week.
Have a great day!
