SEYMOUR — Four people — two of them children — were taken to a trauma facility Monday after a severe crash involving two cars on a rural stretch of road.
Fire crews were called to Route 313 near Clinton Road at 2:46 p.m., Seymour police and fire officials said.
Firefighters found two cars “several hundred yards away from each other,” Citizens' Engine Co. No. 2 said in a Facebook post.
“Both cars were found with heavy damage and all occupants needed to be extricated from their vehicles,” the post said.
Seymour Police asked drivers to avoid the area.
Multiple crews were called for additional manpower to extricate the four people trapped in the vehicles. Fire officials said two of those victims were “pediatric.”
All four victims were transported to a trauma facility, the post said.
