Today’s Forecast:
Strong to severe weather is expected across the eastern plains today. Storms will develop over the interstate today, but storms will likely stay non-severe until they start moving east out of El Paso and Pueblo counties. The main storm threats for our eastern plains are golf ball-sized hail and 70 mph winds with localized flooding.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 89; Low: 59. Hot and muggy today with storms starting up over or near town just after lunch and growing stronger as they move east. Quarter sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible in an isolated severe thunderstorm, but severe threats remain best east of town.

PUEBLO: High: 94; Low: 61. Very hot and muggy today with storms starting up over or near town just after lunch and growing stronger as they move east. Quarter sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible in an isolated severe thunderstorm, but severe threats remain best east of town.

CANON CITY: High: 94; Low: 62. Hot and muggy with a chance for non-severe, isolated showers or thunderstorms in the early afternoon.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 85; Low: 52. Warm and mostly dry today as the chance for spotty and isolated showers or thunderstorms remains low.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Warm and muggy with a chance for thunderstorms in just after lunch. Storms will likely be non-severe but an isolated strong storm is possible before it quickly moves east away from I-25.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Strong and destructive storms are possible today in the mid-afternoon through the early evening. Scattered storms will develop along the interstate between 1 to 2 pm and move east through the plains between 3 to 7 pm. The main threats for storms will be quarter-sized hail and 70 mph wind gusts. Storms will probably be strongest as they move east of Crowley and Otero counties.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 50s. Hot and muggy today with storms starting up over or near town just after lunch and growing stronger as they move east. Quarter sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible in an isolated severe thunderstorm, but severe threats remain best east of town.

Extended Outlook:
Storms will once again be strong to severe tomorrow, except for a better chance for these severe storms along I-25. Large hail and strong winds will be our main storm threats tomorrow. We'll get hotter by Thursday and Friday, and while we'll still have a chance for isolated storms, the storms will be fewer and far between. The weekend looks hot and dry as of now.
