1 dead, 2 with severe, serious injuries after car drives off bridge in Andover - KWCH

ANDOVER, Kan. (KWCH) - One person is dead and two others have severe injuries after a car speeding over the 13th Street Bridge in Andover lost control and went over the bridge.

Capt. John Lahnherr with the Andover Police Department said the car struck a minivan on I-35 when it crashed off the bridge on Sunday around 7:50 p.m.

A man in the car who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the minivan was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the minivan died on the scene.

Both north and southbound lanes of I-35 will be closed until at least 11 p.m.

Capt. Lahnherr said the accident happened in a construction zone.

One person is dead after a car drove off of the 13th Street bridge in Andover.

One person has severe injuries and another has serious but not immediately life-threatening injuries.

The car landed on I-35, with all lanes blocked at this time.

Eyewitness News has a crew headed to the scene.
