FORECAST FIRST ALERT: Isolated severe storms expected this afternoon - KSTP

Minnesota’s Weather Authority is monitoring a chance for isolated severe thunderstorms across parts of central and eastern Minnesota this afternoon and evening.

A FORECAST FIRST ALERT is in the forecast for Friday, August 11, 2023. Minnesota’s Weather Authority is monitoring a chance for isolated severe thunderstorms across parts of central and eastern Minnesota this afternoon and evening.

Much of the afternoon will be dry, but muggy, with sunshine and highs into the middle 80s. Between 4PM and 11PM, thunderstorms will develop and have the best chance of becoming severe with damaging winds and large hail along I-94, and along and east of I-35.

As you plan and enjoy your evening, stay tuned to Minnesota’s Weather Authority, and have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, especially if outdoors. The free KSTP mobile app will notify you if there is a severe watch or warning.

Saturday will be dry, but widespread rain chances look to return by Sunday.
