CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Thousands of FirstEnergy customers are without power in Northeast Ohio due to severe storms that hit the area starting Wednesday and continuing in to the early morning hours on Friday.
As of 9 a.m. Friday, 203,023 Ohio FirstEnergy customers are without power.
The outages peaked overnight, impacting nearly 270,000 customers.
Here are the Northeast Ohio counties with the most power outages according to FirstEnergy’s outage map as of 9:00 a.m.:
- Ashland: 9
- Ashtabula: 1,251
- Cuyahoga: 56,591
- Erie: 2,087
- Geauga: 23,446
- Huron: 184
- Lake: 34,188
- Lorain: 8,165
- Medina: 175
- Portage: 24,429
- Ottawa: 879
- Stark: 2,373
- Summit: 10,676
- Trumbull: 10,667
There were tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service for 14 counties in Northeast Ohio, which all expired by 12:45 a.m. on Friday.
