Severe weather warnings in Worcester County mean anyone who was excited to watch “Encanto” on Worcester Common Thursday will have to wait.
The city announced Thursday afternoon that due to the severe thunderstorm watch in effect through 8 p.m. the Movies on the Common screening of the new Disney favorite has been postponed.
Fans will have to listen to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure” on Sept. 1, the event’s rain date.
The severe thunderstorm watch turned into a tornado warning for parts of Franklin, Middlesex and Worcester Counties Thursday afternoon through 4:15 p.m.
The Movies on the Common series is hosted by the City of Worcester’s Cultural Development Office, along with the Downtown Worcester Improvement District and the Worcester Cultural Coalition.
The next screening is scheduled for Aug. 18, when they’ll be showing “Spiderman: No Way Home.”
