The Reach The Peak Committee has been working to determine how to move forward with the event while ensuring the safety and wellness of participants, volunteers and spectators. In order to ensure that they are following the rapidly changing public health guidelines and recommendations, they are saddened to announce the cancellation of the 13th annual Reach the Peak run/ walk event this fall.
The committee under-stands and shares in your disappointment but it is very important to prioritize the health of the community. They are tremendously grateful for your understanding during this time of uncertainty, and your continued support of the Reach the Peak event.
All registered participants will be contacted by the end of September and given the option of a full refund, or they may donate their entry fee to the Reach the Peak, which will directly benefit the Wautoma Area School District’s A+ After School Program.
Last year Reach The Peak provided $8,300 to the A+ After School Program which was utilized for 60 youth, parents and employees (to chaperone) to attend a performance by the Blue Man Group at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Another portion of the funds provided field trips and enrichment programs for the A+ Spring Break Program that included swimming, The UW-SP Planetarium & Museum of Natural History, Roller Skating, Ice Skating and a Luau Party at Parkside. Unfortunately, all A+ Programs came to an abrupt stop when schools were shut down. The unused funds will carry over for programming in the 20/21 school year (they were budgeted for more family and youth field trip opportunities and A+ Summer Camp).
