UPDATE 3:20 p.m.: Residents in the Seneca Drive neighborhood are advised to be ready to evacuate and to leave the area now if possible..

ORIGINAL: Firefighters are providing air attack to a fire reignited by strong winds on Peavine Peak Saturday afternoon.

Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue said gusty winds have triggered flare-ups and ask people to avoid the area.

Around 2:15 p.m., TMFR advised voluntary evacuations for a 3-mile area near Seneca Drive, off the Golden Valley exit. An evacuation center has been set up at the Washoe County Senior Services Center at Ninth Street and North Wells Avenue. An evacuation center for livestock is at the Reno Livestock Events Center.

A vehicle fire caused the Poeville Fire on the east side of Peavine Peak Friday evening, and firefighters had worked through the night and morning to contain it at 1.4 acres before the Saturday winds caused the flare-up.

Smoke from the fire billowed into Spanish Springs and Hungary Valley around 1:30 p.m.
