Severe Threat Tuesday and Wednesday from the Mississippi Valley to the Atlantic Coast - WeatherNation

An upper-level trough will swing across the lower Mississippi River Valley region Tuesday and through Wednesday. This energy will allow for a significant severe weather event with the risk of large hail, strong tornadoes and damaging wind gusts. Here is the latest forecast.

There is already an outlook for significant severe weather for parts of Mississippi and Louisiana for Tuesday. There are the areas that could see 2″ or great hail and EF-2 Tornadoes or stronger.

Severe storms will be likely ongoing from the severe storms that will hit Texas on Tuesday.

The latest timing shows the storms maintaining their strength out of Texas and moving into the Lower Mississippi River Valley. Some of the strongest storms should be during the afternoon and evening hours for cities like New Orleans and Nashville.

The severe risk will shift to the Atlantic Coast on Wednesday. Areas from Virginia to Florida could have some impacts from severe weather.
