ATLANTA — Tropical Depression Claudette has been named in the Gulf of Mexico.
Areas in Georgia could see several inches of rain this weekend and the potential for brief, spin-up tornadoes as the storm moves in Saturday night into Sunday.
Our Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologists have been tracking the system as it developed over the last few days.

The storms began moving in Saturday afternoon and should be out of the area by Sunday evening.
We’re updating the timing and areas that could see the most rain, on Channel 2 Action News
Here’s what you need to know:
- 4-8 inches of rain are possible in some areas
- There is a risk of isolated spin up tornadoes through Sunday morning
