The Cameron Peak Fire grew by another 1,000 acres Sunday night and now stands at 13,305 acres. No structures or facilities have been damaged, according to the Monday morning incident report from the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire, which aggressively grew to 12,124 acres Sunday, remains at 0% containment, but the report said crews have made good progress creating defensible spaces around structures throughout the area with several more days of similar work ahead. Those efforts include removing ground vegetation fuels and placing hoses, pumps and sprinklers in strategic areas.

The fires is located 60 driving miles northwest of Fort Collins or 40 miles is drawing a straight line from Fort Collins to the fire.

Monday's weather forecast in the burn area calls for highs in the mid-70s to 80 degrees with winds out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph and relative humidity of 10% to 20%.

There are 298 personnel assigned to the fire.

Crews completed some burnout operations to the east of Long Draw Road to help prevent the fire from continuing in that direction. If conditions are favorable, crews will continue to burn areas on the north side of Colorado Highway 14 to keep pace with a finger of fire pushing southwest.

Crews are also working to remove ground vegetation along roads west of Crystal Lakes and Red Feather Lakes. This will allow crews to burn out areas to the west of these populated areas before fire advances that far, should it push that far east.

Colorado 14 remains closed from Rustic to Gould.

No new evacuation orders were issued Monday.

There is an air quality advisory in place for Larimer County as well as most of the Front Range and Westen Slope counties. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said there will be a little bit less smoke for the Front Range on Monday, save for Larimer County, and that particle pollution remains elevated throughout the area. High ozone is possible again this afternoon and evening.

Katie O'Donnell, Larimer County Health Department spokeswoman, said she did not anticipate any closures in the Fort Collins area due to the fire smoke. However, those recreating should expect poor air quality and should take that into consideration when recreating outside.

Reghan Cloudman, Roosevelt National Forest spokeswoman, said the agency is monitoring the situation but that there are no present closures due to smoke, only fire.

Three other major fires are burning in Colorado. As of Monday morning, the Pine Gulch Fire near Grand Junction was at 85,407 acres with 7% containment. The Grizzly Creek Fire in Glenwood Canyon was at 25,007 acres with 0% containment. The Williams Fork Fire near Granby was at 6,345 acres with 0% containment.
