What to Know
- The first batch of showers and storms is expected to move across parts of North Texas Thursday morning.
- A second batch of storms capable of large hail, damaging wind gusts and tornadoes will develop during the mid-afternoon west of DFW and move east.
- A cold front will sweep the storms off to the east Thursday evening, ushering in colder and windy weather for Thursday night and Friday.
Another round of severe weather is possible Thursday as our next system swings into North Texas.
The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded much of the region in an "enhanced" risk for severe storms.
Two rounds of severe weather are possible on Thursday. The first round of storms looks to develop between 9-11 a.m., especially for areas along and east of Interstate 35. The second round comes by late Thursday afternoon as the dryline moves east into the area.
Large hail, possibly the size of golf balls, strong winds and even a few tornadoes are possible as this severe weather pushes into North Texas.
