Stay alert today as a we could see a few wild thunderstorms through the evening. A few individual thunderstorms could reach severe criteria in a hurry.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed portions of southern and eastern Wisconsin under a slight risk for severe weather (2 out of 5 on severe weather scale).
All of our big three–Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay–are currently under the targeted area.
The main threats will be strong winds, heavy rain and spotty hail. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Wind gusts may exceed 65 mph and could lead to tree damage and power outages.
Heavy downpours will increase the threat for localized street flooding.
The main window for action will be through the evening until around 10 p.m.
We could be seeing two possible waves as thunderstorms will likely develop in clusters throughout the day.
Storms will eventually clear late tonight. Most storms will exit the state right before midnight.
