2022 Valdosta (Ga.) offensive lineman Jacarrius Peak earned an LSU offer this week as the Tigers continue to evaluate prospects as senior tapes come out. Peak, who has added numerous offers as of late, is a teammate of four-star LSU defensive back commit JaDarian Rhym.
247Sports rated the 6-5, 310-pounder as the No. 14 overall interior offensive lineman in the country and no. 36 overall prospect in the Peach State. Peak is seeing his recruitment rise with new offers like Georgia Tech, NC State, Louisville, Virginia Tech and others. He's taking a patient approach to his recruitment.
“To be honest, I don’t keep up with that offer total. I just go with the flow of how my recruitment is going," Peak told 247Sports late last month. “I’d like to see what other offers come in for me. I want a school where I feel love for and from the coaches. Also love for the school and everything about it and around it.”
A three-sport athlete with basketball and track and field on his resume, Peak placed second at AAAAAA state championship in shot put with a personal-best toss of 51’7” in May of 2021 while also taking seventh in discus at same meet. He averaged 5.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a junior.
247Sports southeast recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins pegged the three-star prospect as one to watch for Top247 consideration when his ranking debuted this month.
"If you own a Netflix subscription you might recognize the name Jacarrius Peak," Ivins wrote. "That's because he's featured on the hit show 'Titletown High.' While one might assume that would have him fully engulfed in the college recruiting scene, Peak didn't pick up his first Power Five offer until Georgia Tech came calling late last week after his four-game senior cut was released. Since then Peak has landed tenders from Virginia Tech, Louisville, Virginia, and NC State.
"More bids are likely coming for the senior out of Valdosta (Ga.) as he looks like an athletic big man who can play multiple spots along the line at the next level given his physicality at the point of attack and ability to get outside the hashes.
"There is limited verified information available on Peak (he's believed to be somewhere in the ballpark of 6-foot-5, 315 pounds), but he's got a promising athletic profile as he also plays basketball and took second in the shot put at the Peach State's AAAAAA state track this past May. He debuts with a high three-star grade of an 89 and will be someone that we continue to track over the next few months for possible Top247 consideration."
LSU currently has four offensive line commits for offensive line coach Brad Davis with five-star Will Campbell, four-star Emery Jones, three-star Bo Bordelon and three-star Fitzgerald West.
