Active weather returns for the end of the work week into the start of the weekend's forecast.
Friday will start off quiet under cloudy skies before rain chances build. We could see a few showers and a stray storm this morning and around lunch time, but the main focus will be on the evening.
A warm front will approach from the southwest with storms forming along the front during the evening into Saturday morning. A few strong to severe storms will be possible, mainly along and south of I-74.
The best timeframe for severe weather will run from 7 PM until 2 AM Saturday.
Damaging winds up to 60-70 miles per hour will be possible, along with large sized hail. Localized heavy downpours and an isolated tornado or two are also possible as these storms pass.
