GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- A funnel-cloud sighting near Flushing Saturday evening was not the first during a weekend of severe weather.
At 6:21 p.m. on July 24, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Swartz Creek, near Flushing, moving southeast at 30 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
Weather spotters also reported a funnel cloud in the area, the National Weather Service said.

A tornado warning has been issued for southwestern Genesee County, which will remain in effect until 7 p.m.
Other locations in the path of the storm include Grand Blanc and Lake Fenton.
The NWS advises those in the path of the tornado to move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows. Those outdoors are advised to move to the closest substantial shelter and protect themselves from flying debris.

A tornado warning was issued for northeast Huron County late Saturday afternoon, and the NWS reported sightings of a tornado and a waterspout along the Lake Hurone shoreline.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for Southeastern Michigan.
