According to the National Weather Service, heat indices will climb to near 100 degrees on Thursday afternoon. A heat advisory is in effect from 1pm to 8pm central time.
In addition to warm temperatures, severe thunderstorms are possible Thursday night and into Friday morning. The best chance for severe storms will be across the north, but all of north central and western Nebraska could see severe storms. Large hail, strong winds, and heavy rainfall are the primary threats.
