We are tracking the potential for severe weather tonight and again Friday night into Saturday morning.
Tonight's threat comes as a line of storms moves south into Acadiana.
These storms will move through beginning around midnight and clearing the coast around 5 a.m.
Though the threat is on the lower end of our severe risk scale, damaging wind gusts, tornadoes, and hail will be possible with some of the storms overnight.
Since this is an overnight threat, it is very important to not only have a way to get warnings but have a way to be woken up in case warnings are issued.
This would include the News15 News and Weather apps, which will alert you to any warnings no matter where you are.
Another overnight threat arrives Friday night into Saturday morning.
The main threat from these storms will be damaging wind gusts, though tornadoes, hail, and flooding can't be ruled out.
