Severe weather is possible for the KVOE listening area Monday.
Most of the area, including Lyon County, is in a slight severe weather risk. Areas to our south, including parts of Chase and Coffey counties and all of Greenwood County, are in an enhanced risk for severe weather.
The current thinking has storms developing in the late afternoon and early evening. All hazards are possible, but hail and high winds are the biggest risk — and storm activity expected early Monday could impact any severe weather chances for later in the day.
The severe weather risk for Monday begins what well could be a wet week across the area. Rain is possible Wednesday through Thursday night, and some early projections indicate three inches or more of rainfall by Friday.
We’ll keep you posted on Monday’s severe weather risk on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media. KVOE’s Storm Team volunteer spotter network will be ready to give “ground truth” information if needed.
