PITTSBURGH — Unsettled weather returns to the area Friday with scattered thunderstorms developing across the area during the day. Some of the storms could be strong with 50+ mph wind gusts and very heavy rain.
UPDATE 4:19 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Washington County until 4:45 p.m.
UPDATE 4:05 p.m.: A new thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Indiana County until 4:45 p.m.
UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: North Park and Settlers Cabin pools will be closed for the remainder of the day due to inclement weather. They will reopen Saturday if the weather permits.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Beaver and Allegheny counties is in effect until 4 p.m.
A second warning will impact Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana and Westmoreland counties until 4:15 p.m.
UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Allegheny County, including the city of Pittsburgh.
Duquesne Light is showing 1,000 outages in the area, mostly in Beaver County.
First Energy is reporting 3,600 outages in several counties.
UPDATE 3 p.m.: There is currently one Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Beaver, Butler, Allegheny, Westmoreland and Armstrong in effect until 3:45 p.m.
Another warning is for parts of Beaver, Washington and Allegheny counties, also until 3:45 p.m.

Keep the umbrellas around heading into the weekend. A second wave of showers and storms will be possible on and off during the day Saturday. Again, heavy rain and gusty winds will be possible into the evening. So, stay with Channel 11 News for the latest forecast updates.
Wet weather will taper off to an isolated shower or storm Sunday, but most of the area will be dry. Highs will be in the 80s Friday and Saturday, and in the upper 70s Sunday.
