Chicago Weather: Scattered Storms Thursday Night, Some May Be Severe - CBS Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) –A few storms developed early Thursday evening and produced some gusty winds in the northwest suburbs and Lake County north of Chicago, but there was nothing severe as of 8 p.m.

We are still watching the line of storms moving in from the west, but it appears to be weakening slightly. There may still be some stronger storms within the line.

The strongest storms are still expected between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. across the area.

Storms will be tapering off Thursday night after the line rolls through.

The largest threat from any stronger storms remains gusty winds. But hail may be possible, along with a very isolated tornado threat.

The weekend brings a slight cooldown through early next week, but temperatures soar again by the middle of next week.
