We're past the peak of heat, average temperatures start to drop - WQOW TV News 18

The forecast can be summed up in one word: boring.

We like boring though! That means the weather is nice and the sun is out. We'll see a repeat of Wednesday both Thursday and Friday with high temperatures climbing towards 83 and dew points staying low.

Winds will be light again, too. Surface high pressure is doing that thing where it keeps us sunny with some passing clouds. We'll stay dry but a few pop-up showers will be possible in southern Wisconsin. These will be brief and light and won't likely add up to much.

Sadly, we've passed the date where our average high temperature was at it's peak of 83 degrees. Now, as we head into August the average high drops roughly 5 degrees, while our average low will fall roughly 4 degrees. At least that's still summer-like!

The forecast changes though once we get into the weekend. A cold front Saturday will bring a line of scattered showers and thunderstorms. These won't likely be severe but we could get a good splash of rain.

This system will start a cooler than average weather pattern for the first full week of August. Temperatures will be low average in the mid 70's and morning lows could drop into the 40's across portions of central and western Wisconsin.
