A 26-year-old man died Thursday morning on Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.
A climbing group witnessed an unroped climber in another group fall while on Broadway Ledge.
Park rangers received an emergency call early Thursday morning from a climbing group who witnessed the fall on Broadway Ledge near Fields Chimney on the east face of Longs Peak, according to a news release from RMNP.
The man from Golden died after a fall of 600- to 800-feet, according to RMNP.
His body was flown to the Boulder County Coroner Thursday afternoon. His name will be released after next of kin are notified.
