A cross-country storm could bring severe weather to the South as we head into the weekend. Hail, damaging wind, flash flooding and isolated tornadoes are all possible threats.
Here's a look at what to expect.
Friday
A marginal risk of severe thunderstorms will last into the overnight hours for parts of Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. The main threat with these storms will be hail.
Saturday
Severe thunderstorms could be a threat from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley Saturday afternoon and evening. The severity of the storms will depend on how unstable the atmosphere becomes.
Gusty winds and hail will be the primary threats, but a tornado or two can't be ruled out.
Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding in areas where too much rain falls too quickly.
