Mostly sunny and hot on Monday…
The heat and humidity have rebounded from weekend levels in advance of a Northern Plains cold front. Highs Monday reached into the 80s and dew points were in the 60s, making the day a bit sticky, especially if you were playing or working hard.
T-storms return tomorrow…
T-storms are developing over the Plains and will reach into the area over the next 24 to 36 hours. A first round of isolated to scattered storms is possible later tonight, but another area should move in tomorrow morning. As the cold front nears Tuesday afternoon and evening, Strong to severe t-storms are likely.
Cooler Wednesday…
In the wake of the system, a few isolated showers and t-storms are possible, but the chances are slight and cooler highs in the 70s will round out the Wednesday forecast.
Heat and humidity to return…
Higher heat and humidity will return quickly for later in the work week. If you must be outdoors, slow down and stay hydrated. Sunscreen is a must. Remember you furry pet friends, too!
