TODAY: We're continuing to see our mature low pressure system roll through our region. A cold front continues to progress. This will bring a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in MN, and a 70% chance of storms in WI. Some severe weather is possible in Wisconsin, especially in the far southeastern corners of our region. The main threats with these storms will be large hail, strong winds, heavy downpours, and a couple of tornadoes can't be ruled out. Models don't fully agree on the timing, but storms look to start popping up heading into the early afternoon hours. We'll monitor any storms that pop up. Otherwise, temperatures will be cooler, with highs in the low-to-mid 70's. Our skies will eventually clear out heading into the afternoon and evening hours with lows in the low-to-mid 50's. Some fog is also possible as we wake up on Wednesday.
WEDNESDAY: High pressure continues to sit in our region, so we'll begin the day with mostly clear skies. A shortwave trough will bring partly cloudy skies heading into the afternoon. Highs will be near 80°F and lows will be in the lower 60's.
THURSDAY: High pressure continues to linger, but another shortwave trough brings partly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of showers. Highs will be in the lower 80's and lows will be in the lower 60's.
FRIDAY: Partly cloudy skies continue into Friday with highs in the mid 80's and lows in the mid 60's. Long range models show showers and thunderstorms will begin to move through the region heading into the overnight hours. I'm going with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms into the overnight hours.
SATURDAY: We'll continue to see a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. Highs will be in the mid 80's and lows will be in the mid 60's.
SUNDAY: We'll see a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower 80's with partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the lower 60's.
