Las Vegas (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a woman, who was found suffering from severe injuries last week, claimed she was beaten by a man and held against her will.
Edward Kim was arrested on Thursday, November 16, in connection to the case, where he is facing numerous kidnapping, sexual assault, battery, and arson charges.
According to an arrest report, officers were dispatched to an undisclosed area of town after various people called 911, stating there was a woman covered in wounds to her hands, feet, and chest.
She was quickly transported to UMC Trauma due to the severity of her injuries, where she told medical personnel that she had been beaten with bolt cutters and her hair was set on fire with a torch lighter while being held against her will and tied up with zip-ties for two days by Kim.
Medical staff found multiple fractures to both the women's legs, a closed fracture of the nasal bone, contusions to the upper torso, a closed fracture of the phalanx of the left ring finger, and singed hair, as well as signs of sexual assault.

After talking to the woman, officers returned to the scene, where they observed blood on the porch as they tried to make contact with Kim at his apartment, the report stated.
He would later be located at a nearby parking lot after taking off before officers arrived. It was also determined that he had an outstanding warrant for arson in the 1st degree.
Kim told officers during an interview that the woman was hurt, which is why there was so much blood at the residence. When asked how she got hurt, he stated he didn't know and then would go on tangents about other things, like how he heard sounds in the attic and how the woman knew he had children living in Las Vegas.
Kim continued rambling during the interview while refusing to answer any questions regarding what happened to the woman. He would later be transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked accordingly.
