NORFOLK, Neb. -- More severe weather is expected overnight in northeast Nebraska.
Thunderstorms in the north central part of the state first, hitting Valentine before 10:30 p.m.
The storms have since drifted eastward, where they are anticipated to be the heaviest. Wayne, Pierce, Cuming, Stanton, Knox and Cedar Counties are currently in severe thunderstorm warnings until 12:15 a.m.
Some areas of the region can expect rainfall of up to three inches during the early morning hours.
High winds are considered highly likely, along with the slight possibility of hail and tornado risk.
The following counties are in a severe thunderstorm watch until 5:00 a.m.:
Antelope, Boone, Boyd, Brown, Cedar, Cherry, Colfax, Cuming, Dakota, Dixon, Garfield, Holt, Keya Paha, Knox, Loup, Madison, Pierce, Platte, Rock, Stanton, Thurston, Wayne, Wheeler
