The windy and warm weekend weather will give way to raindrops overnight and into the start of the work week. The majority of locations will remain dry through this evening. Scattered showers will then be possible after midnight, with the best chances prior to daybreak Monday.
Overnight lows will fall into the low 60s and upper 50s.
Morning shower chances will persist through daybreak before conditions dry out by mid morning. Partly cloudy skies can be expected into the afternoon tomorrow, with high temperatures reaching values in the mid to upper 70s.
Afternoon sunshine will lead to an increase in instability, which will provide fuel for strong to severe thunderstorms Monday evening. The window for severe weather looks to open as early as 4 PM for communities to the west and remain open as late as 9 PM for communities to the east along the I-55 corridor.
Severe weather is possible and the most intense thunderstorms will have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts, as well as large hail. An isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out, however tornadoes do not appear to be the main threat with this event.
Scattered rain showers will remain possible into the day on Tuesday as one more atmospheric wave slides through. Drier weather, with some sunshine is on tap for Wednesday.
Additional chances for showers exist in the forecast later this week.
