Heart of Illinois has the potential to see some severe weather threats today as strong thunderstorms make way through the area later this morning.

Main threats include wind gusts up to 60-70 mph, which can be damaging, along with large hail, and minor flood threats. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out completely today.
Thunderstorm chances continue through this evening, in addition to lingering rain showers through Friday.
