(WTXL) — The WTXL First Alert Weather Team has declared Thursday a First Alert Weather Day due to the upcoming severe weather threat that morning into the rest of the day.
Out next cold front will come as temperatures warm up, causing a broken line of rain and some stronger thunderstorms by sunrise in our western counties, gradually moving east into the afternoon.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight (2 out of 5) risk for most of the coverage area.
We're under another slight risk for severe storms tomorrow across the entire Big Bend and SW Georgia. Expect the threat for severe weather to begin early tomorrow morning and last through the day. A few tornadoes and 60+ mph wind gusts are the main threats. ⛈️ @abc27 #FLwx #GAwx pic.twitter.com/bZ08xozFjg

The strongest storms will cause damaging wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes are also possible.
Expect the threat for severe weather to begin early Thursday morning and last through the day. The severe threat will decrease in the evening hours as instability in the atmosphere decreases, though rain and a few rumbles of thunder will likely remain through the night.
