AFTERNOON/TONIGHT: This afternoon we will continue to see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid-80’s with southerly winds.
We will be tracking a strong to severe line of thunderstorms tonight. The storms will move into our region (Koochiching, Itaska, Aitkin counties) between 11pm and 1am. The line of thunderstorms will arrive in the Ports between 1am and 3am. Then into NW Wisconsin after 2am. These storms will be capable of 70mph winds or greater, a few tornadoes, large hail and heavy rain. Since this is occurring in the evening, have a weather radio near-by, or even sleep in a safe area such as a basement if possible.
SATURDAY: Saturday morning we will see a chance of some lingering sub-severe T-Storms. Then a break in the action mid-day followed by redeveloping thunderstorms after 5pm. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s. Some severe storms, especially in Wisconsin will be possible.
SUNDAY: On Sunday we will see partly sunny skies. Highs will be in the lower 80’s. There will be a chance of rain showers and isolated thunder across the International Border.
MONDAY: Monday we will see partly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of some spotty showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid-70’s with southeast winds.
